I recently dined at Spicy Shallot and had an overall delightful experience. The ambiance was great, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The service was fabulous with attentive staff who ensured a pleasant dining experience. For appetizers, I ordered the crispy calamari served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. While it was okay to taste, the highlight of the meal was definitely the crab meat fried rice and the crispy volcano chicken. Both dishes were exceptional in taste, though the volcano chicken was a bit sweeter than I generally prefer, it still did not disappoint. We also tried the volcano roll from the Japanese menu. It was a good roll, though not particularly special. In comparison, I must say that the Angry Dragon Roll from Matsuri Restaurant in Woodside remains one of the best rolls I've had.

Spicy Shallot has quickly become my favorite Thai spot in Woodside, Queens. The food is absolutely delicious! I ordered the drunk noodles, which were packed with flavor and had the perfect level of spice. The Tom yum soup was a warm, comforting mix of tangy and spicy, hitting all the right notes. To top it all off, I finished with their Mango sticky rice for dessert, which was simply divine and sweet, creamy, and refreshing. If you're looking for authentic Thai in the neighborhood, this is the place to go!
